If you have lived in Minnesota a short time or your entire life you know that Spring is a beautiful change. It means plants, outside activities, patios, and cabin visits. Finally, spring has decided to show it’s face. So what can we do to make the most out of this welcomed warmth? Eagle Pose.
Yoga is a great way to build heat, gain balance, and unwind. Eagle Pose, Garudasana, has it all. An incredible balance pose that allows you to root and stabilize. Spread out your toes and ground into your heel. Then spend quality time getting low with your hips, gluts, and quads. Your low body will really work in this pose but it also moves up your body.
You will also want to make sure the rest of your body is apart of this pose because it is also about the stomach. Keep your stomach engaged to allow you to stay upright. Finally it does a great job at expanding your shoulders, a much needed opener after cold winter days.
Try this pose for a couple of breathes and notice its lovely effects. However, getting out of it also has its joys. There is a sense of expansion as you open out of Garudasana since you unlock and then spread your wings. It’s a pose that keeps on giving. Fly into eagle pose for endless benefits this spring.
