Often times even when we sleep, we don’t get good rest. Our subconscious is still busy at work and we don’t fully allow ourselves to release. Just 15 minutes of deep relaxation is equivalent to 3 hours of sleep. Yoga Nidra is a practice of deep relaxation that brings one into the restful place between the waking state and the sleeping state.  Utilizing intention setting, breath awareness, body sensing, and visualization we work through our five koshas (sheaths or layers of the body) to a place of calm. When our lives contain tension, anxiety, worry and fear, this practice operates as an anchor to connect one with their true nature.

This class will begin with 30 minutes of gentle yoga (a calming practice that could include classic asana, yin and restorative postures) which will stretch and strengthen the body allowing us to rest more freely. Gentle yoga will be followed with 30 minutes of Yoga Nidra (done on our backs in Savasana).
