It takes courage to be involved and engaged in your community. It takes courage to be vulnerable and honest in your relationships. It takes courage to love this challenging world. This month, we are going to harness our courage to support a more beautiful and healthy life and community.

Courage is at the backbone of Yess. When Lucia was 24 she went to India with a girlfriend. During a week-long meditation retreat, she continued to hear “if you don’t do it now, you never will”. It was clear that coming back to Mpls, she was going to start Yess Yoga.

It took some time but eventually, a place in Whittier transformed to a yoga studio with a clear vision. We set out to be your third space, a community center, focused on mindfulness, authenticity, and meaningful connections. To bring everyday magic and intuition into our world so genuine relationships form with yourself, each other and our greater world. It was through this courage that we have celebrated over 12 years of memories with you all.

There have been twists and turns in this process of building and maintaining our community home. Yet courage continues to remind us to reach out, connect more sincerely, and stay grounded with what matters most. Courage gives us a place to evaluate and stay in the beginner’s mind. Courage allows us to try again or pivot based on our values.

Is there a place in your life where courage would be helpful for you? Would time to connect and ground with your mission/values support a courageous change? When you act with courage, where do you get to be the learner?

We love courage because it removes this sense of having to know it all. It gives you permission to explore and begin again. We would love to support you in acts of courage by being a place where you can center and breath. A place where you can dream and be bold. Your third place that believes in you and your “one wild and precious life” -Mary Oliver.
